This is an opening paragraph in which I’ll draw attention to the fact that I don’t know how to start this.  There, now I have a way to start this.

I’m an avid gamer who’s set her sights on a career in games journalism.  I started out by doing a “Let’s Play” (I hate that term) channel on YouTube, but came to a realization: I love talking about games, but I suck at talking about them.  So, what better way to resolve this than to start writing about games instead?

I’m woefully aware of the fact that games journalism is a difficult field to break into, but hey: something something you miss 100% of the shots…you know the rest.  And things aren’t completely hopeless!  My work has been slowly garnering more attention, which is always a huge motivator!  I also do occasional livestreams on Twitch – follow me there or on Twitter if you want to tune in for those!  Throw in a full-time job as a software engineer and trying not to starve to death, and you have the delightful cocktail that is my life.  It’s a tough drink to down, but somebody’s gotta do it, right?
