I’m Not Dead

I mean, the title really says it all, right?  But seriously, I know that it’s been a while since I last posted.  If you follow me on Twitter (@Olivigarden, for those of you that don’t know…hooray, self-promotion!), you may have seen my tweets about how everything basically went to hell and back.  Well, at this point in my prolific (HA) games journalism career, I feel that it’s probably in my best interests to keep my personal and professional (HAHAHA) lives separate for the most part.  Unfortunately, certain events have a way of making it so that focusing on anything (including being a functional human being) is extremely difficult.  I’ll avoid going into the gory details, but since February 11, I’ve been dealing with some…ahem…distressing personal circumstances.  Don’t worry, nobody died.  But, well, something did.

At any rate, that was the reason I didn’t post anything last week, despite the fact that I got more than halfway through writing some in-depth beta impressions for For Honor.  It’s also why I’m frantically typing this up at 11 PM with the goal of throwing it up before crashing into bed for the night.  I would stay up late to finish the review I started this evening, but I also managed to pick up a cold last week, and am in serious need of some beauty sleep.  Just kidding, I’m always beautiful.  ;P

So yes, there’s a part of me that feels really bad that I didn’t post last week, and that I’m going to be late with posting this week.  However, I like to think that I write some pretty decent content, and I would hate for that standard to plummet just because I’m forcing myself to write through some emotionally traumatic times.  I know that I’ll probably have to get used to it if I ever do end up doing this professionally, but I’d prefer to spare the last few strands of my sanity for the time being.  Never know when they could come in handy.

The good news is that things have come to something of a resolution, and I should be back on track to pick things up again this week.  I’ve even got the week off school, so I might be able to get a bit ahead of the curve!

…I wish.  😛

Anyway, thank you for (hopefully) sticking with me through this difficult time, and I hope that I can get back on track with producing more high-quality(?) video game content!

Love you all!  ♥ ♥ ♥
